The day after pay-day is always hard for me. I try to restrict myself to a budget (that Danny still considers outrageous) for my personal spending. My bills are always paid, but then I get on the internet and am always bombarded with things that I want. Since this is a known problem for me, I have decided that documenting some of my favorites would help me make the decision of whether or not to pull the trigger on some higher priced purchases. Also, I have an anniversary coming up in August and if Danny asks you what I want, please direct him to my Lustful Friday posts :)
My number one, most wanted piece right now is a bag by Alexander Wang. When we were in Europe, over a year ago, I saw a woman in the Milan Airport carrying this bag and have been dreaming of it ever since. I would consider my style to be a little bit rock n roll, a little bit beach bum and a little bit sexy. This bag brings it all together.
I am not a bag girl. The last bag I HAD to have, a Marc by Marc Jacobs stone colored leather Ukita, I still carry daily even though I bought it in October of 2012. I also waited until I could get it from ShopBop at 30% off. Bags just have never been my weak spot. We leave that shining flaw of mine to bikini purchasing :) So, it can kind of make sense as to why this big-ticket item is one I'm on the fence about. Another reason, speaking of the ticket, is the price itself. At nearly a grand this would be the most I have spent on anything other than my car, computers and college education. I love this bag, but this is one of those purchases that will have to wait until I win the lottery or we hit two billion subs on YouTube.
The shoes are a little more sensible. I first saw these on NastyGal last fall when they were featured in an array of colors. They are deceivingly Jeffrey Campbell. I am a huge fan of his creations, but never owned any myself because they are usually a little too out there for me. What can I say, I am a sucker for a nude shoe. I think there is nothing more flattering on a woman. Wearing a nude heel helps lengthen your leg and does not cut you off at the ankle like a black one would. The best part about these shoes is that they do not have a platform. Danny and I are only an inch or two apart in height and although I am a heel fanatic, I hate when I am towering over him. I love that these heels are now in a more neutral option and will probably be purchasing these as soon as I have a worthy event.
So, you have heard all about my wants... What are yours?
I love that I can almost hear you speaking while reading this! You and Danny are both naturals at this comunication thing! Hahaha
ReplyDeleteI'm not a bag or a shoe girl myself, but I feel your pain when it comes to the day after pay-day. Anyways, love your style ;)
I love color I have kinda been on a journey to rediscover who I am when it comes to style and beauty again.I kinda put that part of life aside while I was busy in the "having babies" phase of my life. Now that my kids are a little older almost 12,10 and 4 I have begun a journey to discover who Missy the woman is again. We are on a very tight income so splurges are just that but my weakness is bright color right now it's resisting the urge to buy the new Electric by Urban Decay palette but I keep telling myself that Warped is much more worth it.Someday I will own it.
ReplyDeleteEh I am not a big fan of rose gold. So that kind of turns me off of the bag. But those shoes :) if I didn't have snowshoes for feet I would have a room full of shoes (a blessing in disguise I guess Haha). My wants right now... Make-up and t-shirts. I like playing with make-up and t-shirts, I like cutting them up into something more stylish :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I kinda want new shoes. And that's something I always want, every single day haha. BUT I am not allowed to buy cheap shoes anymore. Ever since I bought Dr Martens again, I have only been wearing those. BUTTT summer is coming (nope, not winter this time) and my Vans are kind of dead. So I hope to find the same ones soon! Crap, now that I'm writing about shoes and allowing myself to buy new ones, I really want all the shoes in the world again. Whoops.
ReplyDeleteI love the bag!! Shoes not so much. I've personally been dying over this betsey Johnson purse I found one day at TJmaxx, lets just say I regret not buying it that day so much!! It's there Candy Ribbon Black and Bone bag and I love it!! The only place I can find it online is ebay.
ReplyDeleteGiiirrrrlll!!! I'm a bag lover so I'm a little suspicious to talk about it, but you should tottaly get the purse! I looked up on Google for those Alexander Wang bags and gotta say you have to choose it well! There are some really nice ones but others... huh, not so much. However, I got a little condradicted when you said the name "Jeffrey Campbell". OMG I freaking love his crazy stuff! I'm actually addicted to his Lita shoes, specially the nude ones, they look cool on every piece of clothing you have! The brown ones are pretty awesome too, but the black ones are too heavy. But I think you should get them both! hahahaha I know it's a little risky, but when we want something we always find a way to get it! Try buying one now and waiting just a little bit more for the other one. And remember to keep saving some money! It always helps! =) If I could, I'd get a brown Lita by JC but here in Brazil it's just way too expensive. Anyways, let us know which one(s) you pick! Whether here or at the DLV vlogs! See you, girl! Have a nice weekend! <3 Luv ya!
ReplyDeleteNow you are speaking my language! Bags are my weakness. You have great taste! Love Marc Jacobs!
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate with the height issue Lindsey! Me and my boyfriend (we also think we are you and Danny's couple twins, btw), are only at most 2 inches apart. Even when I wear my converse which has a higher platform, I feel like I'm too close to his height and I hate it. Heels are hard to get attached too because I have to sacrifice some things for my man. lol
ReplyDeleteReading your blog makes me feel like I'm reading my own thoughts. I would definitely go for the shoes, even if they are on the high side for you. Nude is something I'm just getting into and purchased my first pair last week. Super excited to wear them to my upcoming college graduation.
I'm also not much of a bag girl either. I'm not a label girl who needs to have the latest Micheal Kors or Louie bag, etc... I'm perfectly happy with a cute and practical bag from target because I actually do like to switch up my bags every 3 months or so and it's just cheaper to get a bunch of cute bags that I can play around with all year.
Maybe not clothes related but I'm really saving up for a middle to high end makeup brush set. Like Sigma or Mac. I want all the brushes I'll ever need. So that's pretty close to $500. So I think... that's my ultimate purchase! Hope you enjoy what I have to say! :)
Love that bag!
