Lustful Fridays #5

Hooray for the illustrious return of Lindsey's Lustful Fridays! I love being on tour because it has given me down time to do things like this. Down time which I definitely haven't had available at home recently. I love it.

Swim Amara American Flag Hotcakes
With all of the hoopla surrounding the World Cup, I feel like I have been even more patriotic than normal. I'm obsessed with American flag printed things, but am still in need of some awesome, super American swim pieces. I came across these in my search for swim for Shore and decided at $45 I have to have them. Wish I would have gotten them in time for today, but I'm sure I will use them for years to come!

Neutral Rompers and Dresses for Miami Swim Show
Miami Swim Show is now less than a month away and it's time to start planning outfits! I'll probably stick to my standard of rompers and little dresses, but want to definitely get a lot of neutral colors in my wardrobe. It's my favorite to find great neutral outfits that I can dress up with accessories, but also reflects the style of Miami. Bringing out my inner beach goddess.

I'm always on the hunt for some great, moderately priced footwear. These are some of my current faves. Since Danny will be out of town for the next couple of months I'm thinking that rocking a super tall wedge is totally ok. Bring on the ridiculous heels!

showbag

The one thing I've realized while traveling these last few weeks is that I am in need of a large structured purse. I tend to buy slouchy bags, but once I start carrying a lot it doesn't stay organized and is really hard to carry. Time to get some structure in my life and move on to a big girl bag. Definitely still on the hunt for the perfect one.

Finally Danny and I are starting to plan our big Fall vacation, and this is on the top of my list. I have to check out the wifi to make sure we can still upload our daily vlogs, but that's really our only stipulation when it comes to where we stay. I feel like every time I see the curaƧao water and palm trees that's just where I want to be. I don't know if I'll ever be a ski trip vacationer. Always the beach girl at heart.

Catch ya next time.

Much love,
Lindsey

Summertime Playlist #2

My love for music is unending and therefore, forever evolving. I really loved doing my last Summertime Playlist post so I decided to do another one. I'm still really loving house and EDM, but since being on Warped Tour, some old favorites have been making their rounds in my Spotify again. It's a good mix. Here are some of my favorites:

"White Noise (HudMo Remix)" Disclosure

I'm still ridiculously obsessed with the Disclosure Settle The Remixes. This is an ongoing love affair I don't see dwindling anytime soon. I find a new favorite weekly, play it into the ground and then pick a new one the next week. It's fun to hear the different of the songs and follow the different interpretations. I am becoming a full on EDM enthusiast. If you would have told me that a year ago, I would have laughed because I really used to hate it. I love how much it has evolved though. It's not just Skrillex and weird noises anymore. It's really good music and definitely bleeding over into the pop category. Love it.

"Ambling Alp" Yeasayer

This band is weird in the best ways. This has a catchy chorus and somehow incorporated the lyrics "formidable foe". Props for getting all those syllables to fit and make sense. They also sing part of the bridge in falsetto and somehow, still keep me listening. I just really appreciate the work that went into this song.

"We Sink" CHVRCHES

What's with the V instead of U in band names right now? This definitely isn't the first time I've seen it this summer. I interpret this song as the girl threatening her boyfriend that if he breaks up with her she will be a "thorn in your side till you die". Mega bitch move, but you tell 'me girl. There are also the lyrics, "We are... What the fuck were you thinking," which always makes me sing it really loud and then laugh. I want to see a lot more of this band in the future.

"Wake Me Up" Madilyn Bailey

This song, in all of reincarnations, never gets old. This is the most beautiful and poignant version. I also have annoyed many the car passengers while I sang this at the top of my lungs.

Hunter Hayes

It makes me cry every tiiiiiime :)

"I Feel Alive" We the Kings

This song has been the most fun to watch during this tour. Trav does an awesome job of getting the crowd involved. So fun to see from the stage.

"Wasting Time (Eternal Sunner)" Four Year Strong

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62ryw4Yv_TE

"Maniac (R.O.D.)" Four Year Strong

This band is hands down my favorite on Warped, other than We the Kings. I wish the best for them. There are so many great songs, but I put the videos of the best ones for a summer playlist. Feel free to grow a beard and scream along.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Km-F3L5Bfrk

"Chasing Hearts (Featuring Tyler Carter)" Breathe Carolina
This band toured last summer with We the Kings so I got to see them a lot. It's fun to see how they've grown into more of an electronic sound. They play at Tao in Vegas once a month, which is pretty exciting, not to mention, lucrative for them. They should be everyone's guiltiest pleasure.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiP14ED28CA

"Wiggle (featuring Snoop Dogg)" Jason Derulo
YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THAT BIG FAT BUTT! The Shore girls are unhealthily obsessed with this song. If you haven't seen it yet, the Vine of the stripper playing the clarinet is the best version of this song.

Alright y'all. Much love and until next time,

Lindsey

Touring Life (6.25.14)

Whoooohooooo! I am neck deep in touring life. It has been almost a week since I joined Warped Tour with Danny, and I still have four days left before I fly out. Quite the little stay in tour town :)

My trip has been stellar so far, and I have never done a blog post about traveling, but I feel like now is for the best. I am in a Starbucks with solid internet and coffee, the band doesn't play until 4:45 PM today and there is an interview on the bus with the E! network so I had to head out on my own for a bit. This seems like the best time to document my trip so far.

Last Thursday I left Sarasota airport bright and early headed for Las Vegas. Little did I know that the biggest music festival in the US was also going on in Vegas this particular weekend, Electric Daisy Carnival. I met some interesting people on my way who obviously were huge fans of music, just not quite the We the Kings kind. Still fun though. I also took the most epic airport selfie.

McCarran International Airport Selfie :)

Gotta love that vlog stick :) In Vegas we went gambling (a little), bought Danny his first suit, ambushed an Urban Outfitters for new rompers and ate at the lovely Hofbrauhaus. We've now officially eaten in the original in Munich and the extra fun one in Vegas. Both were delightful.

The next day brought us to Pomona, CA where I went for a run through the hills and begged people to bring me Starbucks. Followed by a stop in San Fran where I visited with family and enjoyed the beautiful weather. We also found a fan's wallet and turned it in to the venue where she picked it up yesterday fully in tact! Good wallet karma for Danny :)

Then we were in Ventura followed by 2 days off in Los Angeles. We did a podcast for The Danny Duncan Show and visited with our good friend Jake from Mayday Parade, and his girlfriend, Jes. They're amazing.

Overall, tour life has been pretty fantastic. Lots of hanging with my boyfriend, shopping and even great luck finding frequent showers. I am starting to get a little homesick for my pup and bed though. We still have Vidcon ahead of us, as well as, three more shows before I skip town :)

I think my Warped Tour Do's and Don'ts still ring true from the original video I made>

But I do think there are a couple of things I could add:

#1 Deodorant: It's pretty obvious, but I just forgot to say it.

#2 Wet Wipes: Whether it's to wash your hands before lunch, clean a spill off of you, or when the Port-a-Potty is out of teepee, they definitely come in handy.

#3 Towel: If you're actually touring DO NOT forget a towel to shower with. I totally did and felt so silly the first time I showered and had to air dry.

Well everyone, I will catch up with you again soon.

Much Love,

Lindsey <3
